The First 'Make Me a Supermodel' Bootee Spills to Stylehive!

If you were disappointed by the first model eliminated from Bravo€™s new hit show Make Me A Supermodel well, you have no one to blame but yourself! Gone are the days of €˜what were the judges thinking?€™- with this show, the fate of the competition lies in the hands of the viewers. In the premier episode, host Niki Taylor told the 14 male and female model wannabes that they would be €˜stripped bare€™ in order to asses their super-model potential- and she wasn€™t kidding.

Upon arriving to New York City, the group was immediately put to work as they tried to ignore the cold and look HOT during a photo shoot with famed photographer Lee Strickland. And the fun didn€™t stop there. In this episode we followed the models as they got a runway-walk tutorial, symbolically shed their pasts by burning articles of clothing, mingled with fashion heavy hitters at a GQ party, worked it for the judges in skin tight leotards, and then again in barely-there bikinis.

After all this, the panel of judges- including co-host Tyson Beckford, Cory Bautista from New York Models, and Jennifer Starr, a modeling casting director, sat down to choose 3 contestants to put up for elimination. While it seemed like Jacki- who refused to wear a thong for the bikini contest (a move Tyson made sure to point out would have gotten her fired) would be at the top of their list, she somehow got a pass, and instead, Katy, Sarah, and Dominic on account of being the most €˜forgettable€™ of the bunch. America voted, and in the end, Sarah, critiqued for being too much of a €˜girl next door€™ by the judges, was the first to go.

Stylehive just spoke to the first Supermodel casualty to get her thoughts on what went down.

Stylehive: What was it like being on the show?
Sarah: It was too soon to tell, it was really questionable in the beginning - like €˜are they talking about me?€™ But everyone got along really well; it was completely new that it was co-ed that made it more humorous. What I€™ll miss the most is the vibe: everyone really helped each other.

Stylehive: What do you think about the fact that America votes for the winner?
Sarah: It does have advantageous, but there€™s still is a panel and they put three up for vote. They want the winner to be someone people will take the time to vote for, which is encouraging.

Stylehive: What were your thoughts on being in the bottom three?
Sarah: Initially- when it was seven of us, I didn€™t think that I was in the bottom three. I was like, maybe they were gonna say €˜okay go off and do better next time.€™ I felt fine when it came down to the bottom three, but it was still a shocker, definitely a shocker. .

Stylehive: What do you think you would bring to the modeling world?
Sarah: I actually got do the makeover, so I chopped off all my hair. I understand what they meant by €˜girl next door€™ so I€™m embracing new look. I have a very commercial look, they kept saying I should try acting, so maybe. Right now I'm trying to find my niche.

Stylehive: What is your best style advice?
Sarah: Insoles in shoes, definitely. And I always use heat activated products, which is important because girls can do real damage to their hair. When I don€™t want such a severe red lip, I€™ll do a stain, and put the color on and then lip gloss and blot it off for a stained look. Liquid liner, definitely, for evening looks. And accessories, I€™m a huge mix and match person.
