Style This! Dressing Up Madewell's Ultimate Army Jacket

While I can honestly say I wasn't a fan of the military jacket trend that held everyone from Balmain buyers to Forever 21 fanatics in its unrelenting grasp not too long ago, I can't help but be drawn to the Ultimate Army Jacket from Madewell ($98 at Shopbop). Something about its lightweight feel, slightly feminine cut (a drawstring cinches in the waist), and cute cargo pockets has me enamored, and the olive green is certainly a neutral tone, making it a versatile piece for your closet. But how to make it work? Sure, you could simply toss it on over jeans and a tank, but where's the fun in that?

In this week's "Style This" we take this tough twill staple and dress it up to suit two different styles. Look one incorporates spring's ubiquitous florals to create a look that's not too saccharine, with neutral, urban-inspired accessories to keep the focus on the jacket and skirt. Look two mixes uptown and downtown flair for a doubly chic ensemble complete with architectural heels, feminine baubles, and an of-the-moment convertible clutch. Which look is your favorite?
