Last week, beloved Brazilian designer Carlos Miele opened up his penthouse apartment in New York€™s super-hot meatpacking district to a select few fashionistas to present his resort collection. Of course, Stylehive was right there to capture it all! There were about thirty people taking in the designer€™s work, including Vogue€™s Meredith Melling Burke, Paper Magazine€™s Mickey Boardman, and famed fashion reporter Judy Licht. The crowd sipped caipirinhas and listened to live bossa nova on the designer€™s rooftop while models loitered about wearing his glamorous, diaphanous designs.
In line with his expert use of fabric and color and his keen talent of making a woman look like a goddess, this collection embodied all those things. The best part: he did it at a fraction of the cost of his regular gowns. I know, it completely shocked me as well, because the collection was so beautiful and he did not compromise one bit on quality. The dresses, mostly in a palette of delicious sorbets, are priced between $300 and $700. Yippee! Now we can all get a piece of the action. I€™m just saying, if you can€™t figure out what to do with those economic stimulus checks you might have laying around€¦
