Style Exclusive: Tim Gunn Worried Christian Is Partying Too Much!

Tim Gunn, the hardest-working man in the style biz (he€™s got two Bravo series under his belt, logs overtime hours to mentor his protégés, and is Chief Creative Officer of Liz Claiborne), shows no signs of slowing down. With season two of Tim Gunn€™s Guide to Style coming soon, and Project Runway season five gearing up for production this summer, Gunn told Stylehive that he€™s €œfully expecting€ fellow judge Nina Garcia back on Runway€¦ but he has some concerns about the fate of oh-so-fierce Christian Siriano!

Stylehive:
What€™s going on with Project Runway?
Tim: Season five begins to tape in June. We€™ve had incredible people show up to the auditions. If they don€™t get it right at the audition, they don€™t get it right. With each successive season, we€™ve had more and more experienced designers show up. It€™s fantastic!

Stylehive:
You must be proud of what Christian Siriano has done since the show ended €“ a cameo on Ugly Betty, red carpet correspondent at the MTV Movie Awards and Kids Choice Awards, guest judge of the Miss USA pageant, host of the Logo Awards€¦
Tim: I am €“ BUT €“ I want to keep him on the fashion path!!! He is such a compelling character. He is so in demand. I want him to focus on why he€™s here. I really believe he€™s this generation€™s Marc Jacobs.

Stylehive: Do you think Christian has gone too Hollywood?
Tim: I think it€™s natural to embrace all of this right now. What an incredible thrill it is to have people want you in this way. It€™s very seductive. Were I he, I would have done the same thing. But now it€™s like, okay, let€™s start to temper this, and get back to our real work.

Stylehive: Have you caught any of his TV appearances?
Tim: Not yet. But what I love about him is that he really is who he is. He really is that person.

Stylehive: He€™s probably just taking advantage of all the great offers now.
Tim: I€™m using our dinner on Friday just as a €œI love you, I care about you. Do you need any help? So, how can I help support you?€ a little Big Daddy talk. We have a burgeoning Project Runway alumni association, and I care deeply about all of them.
