Street Style - The Layers of Summer

Prancing around in demi-sheer blouses and flirty dresses is something we could do all season, but we must admit. We've been missing our layers.

Layers are a way for us to add texture and build our own style into an ensemble. Plus, as sunny as these days have been and as much as we've enjoyed these balmy nights, there is still the occasional cold front that has us reaching for our long cardigans and summer sweaters.

We've caught up with some of our favorite stylish bloggers and are inspired by their summer layers look! Check them out their styles then click on the slideshow to see our favorite pieces to emulate these blogger's looks!

Laura from OnTheRacks - We love how she paired a summer-perfect white jeans with a sleeveless military inspired vest. To protect from the windy night, a loose fit denim jacket is the perfect touch of chic + casual. Wedge sandals and wood statement jewelry makes this the perfect 'stroll about the city at dusk' summer ensemble!

Hallie from HallieDaily - Nothing says summer like a pair of classic Levi's cut-offs. And it goes so perfectly with this on-trend sheer floral blouse. But as the sun sets, a light-weight button down as outerwear still makes the look summer-y, while giving you the coverage you need. A leather messenger bag and cool aviators complete this sunny day look!

Erika Marie from FashionChalet - She calls her soft peach toned blazer 'a meringue-like topping' and that's exactly why this structured outerwear works so well with her floaty dress. A lighter color and comfortable fit helps a piece seem more summer-appropriate. Plus, the classic silhouette perfectly matches the dressier feel of the outfit, making it cohesive and so appealing!

Crystal aka Watermoolen - It's all about uptown casual with a pair of loose fit riding pants and a tucked in tank in a pop color. It's so nonchalant but a hot pair of grey boots and a bold red lip make it glam! An oversizes scarf of light weight knit is the perfect way to shield yourself from the setting sun while adding drama to your emsemble!

Ivelina from FRICHIC - Sometimes it's not about staying warm when it comes to layers. Layers allow you to really let your personal style shine through. A summer layering piece can be lightweight and used as a style tool. Take a cue from Ivelina and use a subtly chic statement piece to bring it all together, like her Moschino belt!
