At last night€™s Sex and the City premiere extravaganza, each gal brought her A-game and created a sensation on the Pink carpet with their fabulous ensembles, all of which were topped off with unique jewels from Fred Leighton. Back in the good old days, when Sex and the City was a weekly fixture in our lives, there€™s no denying that the quirky fashion-forward style that defined Carrie Bradshaw was the main fashion attraction. However, does the same hold true in real life? Let€™s examine the looks from last night and decide.
Sarah Jessica Parker took a cue from her fashion-forward alter-ego, Carrie Bradshaw, and pushed extravagance to the extreme in a glamorous strapless metallic gown by Nina Ricci topped off with armloads of Fred Leighton jewelry including three antique necklaces (a 19th century diamond riviere necklace, a 19th century diamond and pearl fringe necklace, and a 19th century gold diamond snake necklace), a 9 carat diamond solitaire ring, and diamond pendant stud earrings. Kristen Davis veered away from the calm and demure styles of her character Charlotte York and shined bright in a gold pleated off-the-shoulder dress made for her by Donna Karan, given an added dose of glam with gorgeous Fred Leighton diamonds including 19th Century diamond pendant earrings, a 19th Century diamond bracelet, and a 24.0 carat Alexandrite and diamond ring.Kim Cattrall opted for a look that was understatedly sexy and more subdued than something the saucy Samantha Jones would have chosen, in a heavily beaded cocktail dress by Vivienne Westwood, accented with old mine diamond pendant earrings and a Tahitian pearl and diamond ring. Cynthia Nixon showed us something new in an ethereal white silk embroidered dress made for her by Narciso Rodriguez that the cynical Miranda Hobbs probably would have rolled her eyes at. She completed the look with diamond pendant earrings, a 16.00-carat ruby and diamond ring and a diamond bracelet.
