Seven of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week's hottest designers were feted by Nikon at the Henri Bendel flagship store on Fifth Avenue in New York City. Stylehive editors Chris Kensler and Myriah Zaytoun chatted up some of the fashion world's most engaging personalities, including Nigel Barker from America's Next Top Model, and Project Runway's Malan Breton, who's premiering his spring 2008 line on Wednesday.
Nigel was enthusiastic about the night's guests of honor, calling them "fashion's next big things." Malan was understandably nervous about his upcoming show, which he told Stylehive was still being sewn! I also chatted with Bootzwalla designer Lori Seliger, whose brother Mark Seliger was Nikon's featured photographer at the event. (His "In My Stairwell" photography series of rock royalty like Mick Jagger, David Bowie, Lou Reed and Bruce Springsteen took up an entire wall at the multi-story store.) After hearing her plans for her boot and boot-covering lines, I'm expecting big booty things in the near future.
