Back in the day, the 1970s signaled the emergence of musical talents like Patti Smith, David Bowie, and the Sex Pistols. These days, we're seeing the decade in another light- it's a great source of fashion inspiration for this year's Halloween costume! The fashion and style of the 70s suit every style from mini dresses to maxi dresses and even jumpsuits! Since this decade's made a huge comeback in the past few years, you probably already have a few 70s-inspired pieces of clothing for your Halloween look. If not, scouring your local vintage stores is sure to turn up some great items. Look for lots of ethnic inspired prints, paisley, long and loose caftans and tunics, and turquoise jewelry. For DIYers, look into the archives of famed fashion houses such as Halston, Givenchy, and Yves Saint Laurent, watch old episodes of Charlie's Angels or find vintage dress patterns to start your creations.
