There are tons of celebrity stylists out there; however, few have achieved the level of fame, success, fashion industry influence, and iconic status that Rachel Zoe enjoys. When I spotted the pint-sized fashionista- who is really beautiful up close and not, as one of her former clients famously put it, a "raisin face" - I had to approach her to get some first-hand style tips.
Who cares if she wrote a whole book on the subject and has probably been asked every fashion-related question under the sun, this is the woman responsible for creating the envied and sought-after styles of celebs like Nicole Richie, Lindsay Lohan, Mischa Barton, Keira Knightly and so much more, I was NOT gonna pass on the chance to meet the fashion-maven herself!Stylehive: Favorite spring trends?Rachel Zoe: Probably seeing the bright colors again, like really seeing the bright citrus yellows, and the greens, fuchsia, which I used to hate but I love now. So that excites me. Stylehive: What is your advice on how to wear bright colors, because it can be a tricky thing to pull off.
RZ:You have to kind of look at the base of your skin tone, and almost do like a skin color test, almost like you do with makeup, it€™s very similar with clothes. Like if there€™s too much yellow in something, and you have a lot of blue in your skin or pink in your skin, it might wash you out and all that. Stylehive: Predictions for fall 2008?
RZ: Too soon to tell, it€™s always very dark for fall, but it€™s still too soon to know. Stylehive: What's your number one absolute best piece of fashion advice?
RZ: Always have a nude thong at hand! And always wear something with confidence because if you€™re not confident, it€™s gonna show. Photo: Mercedes-Benz Fashion WeekStylehive: What shows are you looking forward to seeing?
RZ: Well of course DVF, Marc, Zac, Calvin, there€™s so many! Jonathan Saunders, Donna, Phillip Lim, and the list goes on!
