NYFW Runway Review: Zac Posen Mixes Fetish And Fantasy

Stylehive was fortunate enough to score a ticket to the notoriously exclusive Zac Posen runway show - and being there, only a few rows away from the runway, really gave me the chance to see what all the hype was about. While I usually keep one eye on the runway and the other on my trusty notebook, frantically scribbling down notes and such, during this show, I was so transfixed by the eclectic, vivid, and beyond belief stunning looks, that I couldn€™t pry my eyes away long enough to jot down a single letter. In the end, the page in my notebook titled €˜Zac Posen€™ said only this: "Amazing!!!!"

The Zac Posen fall/winter €™08 collection played with ideas of fantasy and fetish- with looks ranging from vampy vixen, fairy princess, and a blend of the two in between. By exploring such divergent themes, this collection was definitely on the more vivid and eclectic side, but still maintained Zac€™s signature knack for impeccable tailoring and dramatic evening-wear, with no shortage of gorgeous taffeta ruffle dresses, intricate draping, and embroidered gowns created with the utmost precision. While the ultra-sheer and ultra-intricate looks showed that practicality wasn€™t the primal concern driving this collection, we still saw an array of pieces- a striking yellow and jet jeweled silk mini skirt, a daring black jumpsuit, impeccably structured pants suits, cropped blazers, stunning lace tops, curve-hugging cocktail dresses, and so on- that could easily translate from runway to reality. Post show Zac explained that the collection was a mix of €œgraphic, iconic outfits€ encompassing €œall of a woman€™s fetishes,€- and there€™s no doubt that every woman out there will find something to crave. . There were looks that would work for the driven business woman, pieces perfect for the society girl to dance the night away on top of tables at Bungalow 8, looks for the funky chick who is never one to follow rules, items for the girly girl who always looks perfectly put together, as well as for the daring vixen who isn€™t afraid to get a little dirty, and as always, red-carpet worthy gowns that I€™m sure are already at the top of the A-list celebrity€™s wish list.
