NYFW Runway Report: Comparing Max Azria's Three Fall Collections

If you think your life is stressful, just think about what Max Azria€™s life must have been like during these past few months! The designer presented not one, not two, but THREE entire collections during this season€™s fashion week- BCBG MaxAzria, Maxazria, and Herve Leger. While there was obviously some connective tissue linking the three, overall, Max successfully pulled off three distinct, unique collections, each with different themes, moods, and target audiences. According to the designer: €œDesigning three lines is really about focusing on different sides of a woman, but in a common vein of quality and attention to detail that is present in everything we do.€

The Hervé Léger collection was the most distinctive since it there was obviously the restriction of maintaining the signature bandage dress look that distinguishes the house. In this presentation, Azria first presented his own interpretations of the iconic bandage mini dress look- with decadent add-ons like feathers, sequins, organza and so on, but at the end, paid homage to the signature Herve Leger style- definitely a good move to quiet any potential critics!

The BCBG collection was all about keeping it feminine, ethereal and light. These designs really spoke the ultra feminine gals out there who don€™t let dark dreary winter weather have any impact on their wardrobe.

The Max Azria collection marked a venture into sexier more daring territories- definitely not for a prim and proper princess. This collection was definitely targeted towards more fashion-forward fashionistas who just don€™t care what the world thinks because they know they look HOT.
