NYFW Backstage Beauty: Get the Rebecca Taylor Boho-Traveler Beauty Look

The Rebecca Taylor Spring 2009 collection was inspired by the bohemian world traveler with relaxed, fuss-free looks and beautiful pieces that seemed haphazardly thrown together for an effortlessly fabulous look. Lead makeup artist Polly Osmond for MAC played with this world traveler theme, creating a makeup look that was very "lived in, kind of messy, and bohemian. It's pretty, but still youthful. It's not serious, it's kind of edgy and fun with a little sophistication." Read on for a step-by-step guide to replicating the look.

Face: To keep the look natural and fresh apply MAC Face and Body Foundation, $32, where necessary, to conceal imperfections while maintaining a minimal makeup effect. Use a bit of powder to set any oily areas, like the t-zone.

Eyes: Smudge a mixture of Eye Kohl Liner in Teddy, $14.50 and brown Cream Eye- Shadow, $16.50, on the top and bottom lash-lines and then set with Clear Gloss, $17.50, to create a messy, 'lived-in' look. Finish by applying a bit of mascara (Plush Lash, $12), just at the base of the root.

Lips: The lips were kept nude and fleshy, select a color based on your skin-tone to achieve the same effect.
