Mara Hoffman's Fall/Winter 2009 collection showed us a new take on the ever present boho-chic trend, presenting a sleeker, more refined approach while still maintaining a casual, hippie world traveler vibe. Ethnic print maxi dresses and hooded cardigans floated down the runway upon minimalistic black heels, topped off with hair in tousled waves. Expertly draped knitwear gave way to wild printed bodysuits, and even the more elegant and reserved looks of the bunch were given a bit of edge with tassel details and DIY-esque shredding. Studded headscarves and delicate layered jewelry rounded out the piled-on yet pretty ensembles, and who could miss the peace sign-emblazoned cape? One of the more adventurous displays we've seen yet, Mara Hoffman's collection delivered a whirlwind escape to an exotic place, if only for a few minutes.
