Make Me A Supermodel Cast-Off Dominic's a Really Cool Dude

On the second episode of Make Me A Supermodel, the contestants went through the most significant rite of passage in the modeling world: The Makeover. The girls tried to hold it together as their locks were clipped and colored. Some were thrilled, others not so much. While the boys tried with all their might not to scream like girls as they endured every guy's worst nightmare: a chest wax.

Then came another photo shoot and runway competition. Once again, the judges disapprovingly remarked on the fact that Katy, who is neither high-fashion nor commercial, has no place in the modeling industry, and once again, on Dominic's bad attitude and stiff walk.

Not surprisingly, both found themselves in the bottom 3 and up for elimination once again; however, this time they didn't have a 'girl next door' type like Sarah to take the heat off them. America voted and Dominic was auf! (Wait, wrong show).

Anyway, Stylehive just spoke to the ousted model (I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that he was incredibly sweet, humble and charismatic, a far cry from the whiny diva I was expecting) about the outcome, his thoughts, and being so dang purty.

Stylehive: What was the overall "Make Me a Supermodel" experience like for you?
Dominic: I took everything with a grain of salt- I mean I felt a little bit misunderstood- being the boy from So Cal- I think a few people took my kindness for weakness and my attitude for rude or against them, or for being crass, and that's just not who I am. But that's okay, judge me however you want. My real friends and family, and even acquaintances, know me and I came home to a really nice homecoming and it was a very warm welcome. Everyone said I conducted myself with class and dignity.

Stylehive: What were your thoughts when you were in the bottom 3 for a second time?
Dominic: At that point I knew right away that my chances of going home were good because I was going up against Ben and Katy, who both had time to promote. They had more of a chance on the show back in November because they won the Internet vote, so I thought 'wow, I'm really up the creek right now' so I knew right then. But with show business there's a lot of unexpected things that happen.

Stylehive: It seemed like you were there because of your attitude, not really because of how you did in the competition. Did you feel cheated at all?
Dominic: I did a little bit, I mean I thought there were people who didn't do as well as me. I mean I was kind of made out to be a complainer and attitude and a lot of that was taken out of context. I wasn't the only one that noticed that. Some of the feedback I've gotten is 'wow, we can see kind of the shady editing and how they really tried to portray you as the jerk' and that's not really who I am. I thought my walk was a lot better than what they made it out to be, I mean that's just show biz right there.

Stylehive: What's next for you?
Dominic: Fashion week is starting in New York, and if there is an agent, photographer, stylist, designer, that liked who I am, I would be on a plane right away, and I wouldn't have a problem paying for it just to get out there, because that's how much I'm so into this business. I was there in September and I didn't book anything, but now I've kind of made a name for myself. I know I can walk, I know I can wear the clothes, I know I can do the poses, and I just want to be given a chance like everyone else, I would love to come in and strut my stuff and then maybe DJ at an after party. If I had something lined up, I'd be out there in an instant . That was my goal originally on the show- to make it to fashion week- and then I could feel a little more accomplished.

Stylehive: Who do you think should win?
Dominic:Honestly, it's a toss up between Frankie and Perry. I really like both of those guys, and I plan on being longtime friends with both of them, they were personal confidants for me and they backed me up. i know Frankie's got what it takes and I know Perry's got what it takes. They're both dedicated to their craft.

Stylehive: One more important question. Is being beautiful a blessing or a curse?
Dominic: I believe that it's a blessing, that's how I was raised. I've seen where it's been a curse, but it's really not that bad. My little brother has Down Syndrome so he's not gonna live the same life that I do, so I totally feel blessed and my mom has taught me that every single day of my life- 'Lord forgive me when I whine, I have few eyes, the world is mine." There are so many people that are just born less fortunate and that's what it comes down to.
