I was covering the Gen Art Fresh Faces show this weekend with a TV crew for Stylehive and SOAPNet/ABC when I got the call from our producer. "We have Alexis Arquette! She's coming out in five minutes!" This is the scary part about covering fashion. You can do all of your homework about the designers, get to the runway early, hang out backstage with the models and stylists and hair guys to the inside scoop on the collection - but you cannot prepare for a red carpet interview with Alexis Arquette, the transgendered sister of David, Patricia, and Rosanna.
I mean, what fashion questions would YOU ask Miss Alexis? She's in a pretty specific situation! My Fashion Questions For Ms. ArquetteAfter one of her overly caffeinated (or something) friends was carted off, and a strange stalker type in the crowd finally stopped yelling "I love you Alexis!", I gave it a go. I started with her dress: "A vintage piece of trash I found at a thrift store!" And then her hair: "A wig I glued on!" And her makeup: "Permanent Sharpie!"Alrighty then! The interview pretty much devolved into Alexis shouting nonsequitors at that point, but all in all, it was a good way to start the week. Nowhere to go but up!Stylehive Is At L.A.
