Hot Stuff: Comic Relief

Cartoon characters have jumped from comic books and movie screens onto your credenza! Giuseppe Canevese has taken the art form and overlayed it onto his modern furniture design.

The uber-talented Italian designer has incorporated graphics from famed artist Guido Crepax into a cabinet that is not only fully functional, but a piece of comic art.

Paying homage to Crepax, an icon of European graphic art in the 20th century, the sleek black and white lacquered cabinet evokes a psychedelic, 60's aesthetic, with influences from legendary pop artists such as Andy Warhol. The proclaimed "Pope of Pop" lead an artistic revolution by taking images from cartoons and advertisements and turning them into large scale works of art.

But beware, these comics don't come cheap. Got $4,295 to spare?

What item of furniture should Canevese attack next - and with what character? A Batman bookcase? A Spidey sink? Tell us in Comments!
