In this day and age, communication through the computer and other handheld electronic contraptions like mobile phones have become the norm. We express ourselves through words and punctuation, making the faces we create from keyboard characters stand in for the character of our faces. The Sign Collection is a collection of rings by Finnish metalsmiths Chao-Hsien Kuo and Eero Hintsanen (aka Chao & Eero) that pays homage to the ubiquitous signs and symbols that have become fixtures of our daily communication: the exclamation point, the question mark, smiling eyes, and the oft-utilized smiley face. Each one of these expressive rings (available at Iluren of Finland) is designed and handcrafted in the land of the Finns by Chao and Eero from sterling silver with the utmost care and precision, and is also stamped with the designer's signature, origin, and the date it was made.
