Textile designer Orla Kiely launched her colorful patterned stem print handbags in the 1990€™s. Based in London, Orla€™s design philosophy is one of good design not being over designed. Since growing into a collection including women€™s wear, accessories, travel and home, the Orla Kiely brand now boasts a flagship store in London as well as 14 shops in Japan. Orla€™s appeal is the distinctive modern simplicity in her colorful designs. Orla herself is a study in modern design, holding a Masters from the Royal College of Art in London and awarded the 2005 Irish Tatler Irish Woman of the year for design.
