Hot Product: Anya Hindmarch's I'm not a plastic bag - The Little Bag That Could

The "I'm NOT A Plastic bag" bag is more than just a cute canvas tote. You've seen it on the arm of celebrities such as Keira Knightly, Alicia Silverstone and Lily Cole, and it's been spotted on eBay for £175. The simply constructed tote designed by Anya Hindmarch originally sold for £5 in the UK. Intended to inspire consumers to be more environmentally conscious the bag is more than a 'bag', it has become a fashion phenomenon. The movement was initially created on behalf of the non-profit organization, We Are What We Do, which believes that small actions of many people can bring a big change. Currently, the bag is sold out at Anya Hindmarch boutiques in the UK and on the website WeAreWhatWeDo.com. Not to worry, more "I'm NOT A Plastic bag" bags will be available at 150 Sainsbury's locations beginning April 25th in the UK. Stateside, according to Women's Wear Daily, a navy trimmed version of this bag will be available in June at Hindmarch's boutiques in New York, Los Angeles and Short Hills, New Jersey. On the West Coast, look for the totes at Fred Segal and Fred Segal Flair. Shoppers in New Jersey, Connecticut, and New York will find the bag at their local Whole Foods markets.
