Stylehivers are all about anything handmade, especially when it comes to stuffed toys! One of the most popular bookmarks of late to fit that description has been the sweet, sensitive handmade animals by Brooklyn-based artist Jennifer Muskopf, who may be better known under her animal-creating moniker Clive and Sunshine. A painter by trade, Muskopf does part-time dabbling in the realm of animal creation, a pastime she took up in 1993 as "as a way of extending her painting ideas." Each one-of-a-kind member of her sizable zoological menagerie (which includes but it not limited to: a lion, a buffalo, and a bear, oh my!) is handmade by Jennifer herself, using both vintage and new materials. As a finishing touch, she embroiders the face of each of her creatures by hand. What makes these cute stuffed friends so special? Jennifer's attention to detail: her intricate designs, and her deft choice and juxtaposition of fabrics imbues each individual animal with an amazing amount of personality and character.
