What hasn€™t been done to jeans? They have been distressed, faded, stonewashed, acidwashed, rhinestoned and embroidered, and just about everything in between. Jeans have been reinterpreted and reinvented by innovative designers of every generation since their creation by Levi Strauss in the latter half of the 19th century. The hottest trend in denim du jour is a slim-cut silhouette for men and women: body-conscious, simple, and unadorned. American Apparel, the Los Angeles-based, sweatshop-free manufacturer of body-conscious apparel coveted by hip, fashion-conscious guys and gals the world over, has taken it upon themselves to take jeans to the next level by introducing The Slim Slack. Officially hitting American Apparel stores in a few short months, The Slim Slack will have a flattering, classic, trend-busting, slim, straight unisex cut with a slightly higher rise than what has been on the jeans scene in the recent past. They will be available in a veritable rainbow of colors, just like their coveted tees, hoodies and scarves...but as to be trendsetting and unique, American Apparel is eschewing the traditional denim blue!
