Need a stylish, special gift for a new baby or child in your life, perhaps one whose parents love all things modern? Font and design shop House Industries has teamed with the estate of mid-century-modern textile designer and interior design master Alexander Girard to create this set of colorful, wooden alphabet blocks. Girard had a long tenure with illustrious 20th century contemporary design firm Herman Miller, and he is celebrated by design lovers worldwide for his vibrant color palette, and his use of whimsical folk art motifs. This set of 28 blocks is a fun, versatile teaching toy for those aforementioned precious tots: one side of each block is a puzzle that forms an image of a factory (the symbol of House Industries), while the remaining sides of the blocks feature carvings of curvy, quirky letters in a signature Girard typeface, as well as plethora of iconic, graphic Girard motifs, including his famous "Love" design and a variety of his smiling suns.
