Hot in the Hive: Recyclable Component Running Shoes

You all know the three Rs: recycle, reduce, re-use. This new shoe concept lets you add a fourth: RUN!

Designer Ben Chappell created the fully modular recyclable training shoe without the adhesives that render ordinary shoes unrecyclable. Chappell's shoes are held together with mechanical locks formed by five separate pieces that you put together yourself... no sweatshops here!

This also allows you to customize your shoe, and if a part becomes worn, you simply replace that part instead of the whole shoe. As an added incentive, you€™ll get a discount on the new part.

The shoes aren€™t actually in production yet, but any concept that is good for exercise and the environment is just too cool to keep out of the Hive!
