The difference between the "new" bookmarks tab and the "recent" bookmarks tab is that you only see bookmarks originated in the last 24 hours. Go to the "recent" bookmarks tab to see what people are saving across the hive, or go to the "new" bookmarks to see only the freshest newly minted bookmarks coming into the hive.
