Hot Event: Fashion Gives Back, Custom T-Shirts For A Cause

Power fashion players Splendid, Glamour magazine, and Shopbop.com have formed a partnership to benefit a multitude of great causes. Glamour asked six rising fresh faces in fashion to design a one-of-a-kind image that reflects their creativity and vision. The designers for this project have talent plus a big heart: Jenni Kayne, Rachel Roy, Rodarte, Sari Gueron, Thread Social, and Vena Cava. The images they created, along with the designer€™s signature, were screened onto a white cotton Splendid t-shirt. A limited edition run of these exclusive t-shirts will produce only 250 shirts per design, which will be on sale at Shopbop.com. 30% of the proceeds will go to the various charities each designer supports. Below is a rundown of the designers, their unique and exclusive creations, and their charities:

  • Jenni Kayne for Rape Treatment Center at Santa Monica-UCLA Medical Center: Coral-colored sketch of a woman in a field of poppies wearing Jenni€™s Grecian one-shouldered gown.

  • Rachel Roy for Children€™s Hope India: A unique take on Rachel€™s signature in distressed metallic gold.

  • Rodarte for National Multiple Sclerosis Society: Black and white light bulbs covering the shirt with one illuminated yellow bulb.

  • Sari Gueron for Free Arts NYC: Original watercolor paining of an owl spreading its wing across the front of the shirt.

  • Thread Social for Women In Need, Inc.: Graffiti print inspired by the spring 2007 collection.

  • Vena Cava for American Refugee Committee€™s Darfur Relief Effort: Pen and ink Art Deco & Native American inspired graphic drawing.

You can purchase these designer t-shirts beginning today, February 2, 2007, at Shopbop.com.
