#1 Beanbag chairs

You're bound to have people visit, and how many people can comfortably sit on a dorm (i.e. narrow twin) bed? About four, and then you're all facing the same direction and talking to a wall instead of to each other. Fun! So invest in one of these- they come small enough to not take up that precious remaining walking space, and will happily seat all of those cool friends you'll meet.

#2 Couch with Ottomans

Dorm chairs are by nature uncomfortable. Check out this mini couch from Target. Its compact, barely four-foot length is ideal for small spaces, and the dual ottomans are retractable so you can optimize your space and comfort. And how fun is that apple green?

#3 Boyfriend pillow with speakers

Boyfriends are fleeting, but boyfriend pillows are forever. Or something. This isn't your ordinary pillow, though. This pillow, unlike that last boyfriend, rocks€¦ literally. Just plug your iPod into the built-in speakers and you're good to go! Or stay, I suppose.

#4 Flokati Rug

I really lucked out my freshman year. I basically lived in a cement block, complete with cold tile floors. It made waking up especially fun. This shaggy rug would have changed things quite a bit. It's available in three sizes and three colors, and I'm willing to bet that you'll find yourself waking up on time just so you can sink your toes into the irresistible fluff. Well€¦ I wouldn't go that far, but it looks pretty amazing nonetheless.

#5 You Rock My Walls

I first came across the Music Snob in college. You know, that person who wouldn't dare admit that last night, while getting ready for that party, he or she was rocking out to a Backstreet Boys/N*SYNC/Britney playlist. These posters are reproductions of historic concerts are and sure to score you some cool points in the eyes of any Music Snob. Said Music Snob might even tell you their guilty pleasure pop song. Don't push it though.
