Hive5: Curtain Call - Stylehive

I never really thought much about curtains until I was so bothered by the sunlight in my room that I stood on my desk and tried to affix an old sheet to the wall space above my window. Aside from failing miserably, it looked horrible, but only for three seconds, because that€™s how long it actually managed to stay up. And then there was that whole almost falling all over my desk situation. Anyhow, thus began my newfound appreciation for curtains, especially ones that don€™t involve balancing acts on my part.

From delicate tassels to elegant drapes and room dividers, there are many ways to incorporate the versatile d̩cor into your room. Check out my favorites here in the hive. I۪ve even thrown in a shower curtain for fun. Enjoy!

#1 Inhabit Ailanthus wall hanging

These fabric panels can be used on walls, ceilings, or wherever you want to set off an area. During the day, they€™ll allow natural light to permeate for a soft glow, but at night they remain opaque.

#2 J. Schatz happening curtains

Modern art becomes a little more accessible with these bright curtains. Available in multiple color combinations, they€™ll add a lively elegance to any room. Come to think of it, they kind of look like those mobiles I made in elementary school€¦ the good ones, of course!

#3 Algue screen elements by Vitra

Creativity within creativity- these plastic pieces can be linked together to form webs of a size and purpose that you choose. You can even vary the opaqueness of the resulting mesh effect. There€™s definitely a certain curiosity about these in the way that they blur the line between art and furniture.

#4 Duponi silk drapes

These curtains almost remind me of a couture gown with their folds and the way they hang so gracefully. Besides adding a luxe feel to your room, they add a gorgeous neutral backdrop to the rest of your décor.

#5 Brooklyn Bridge shower curtain from Izola

Gorgeous black and white prints are transposed onto vinyl for a shower curtain that will turn your showers into mini vacation destinations€¦ well, they€™ll help you pretend. Aside from the Brooklyn Bridge, you can also €œexperience€ Venice and Paris. Okay, maybe not, but at the very least you can say you have a view of the city from your shower!
