Style Advice: Michelle Trachtenberg Spills Her Best-Kept Beauty Secrets

After a brief timeout from the spotlight, Michelle Trachtenberg is back and her star is shining brighter than ever. In addition to her role as bad girl Georgina Sparks on the hit show Gossip Girl, Michelle just completed two 2008 features- Seventeen Again, in which she stars opposite Zac Efron and Kids in America with Topher Grace, and has her own jewelry line. We caught up with the alabaster beauty at the celebration for Gen Art€™s 10th Anniversary Styles International Design Competition at the Sunglass Hut store in Soho, where we got the 411 on all her inside fashion and beauty secrets.

Stylehive: What are some fashion tips you€™ve learned by from your time on Gossip Girl?
Michelle Trachtenberg: You can never have too many accessories, he (styelist Eric Damon) piles them on. I brought him my jewelry line and he€™s like €˜alright let€™s throw that on too!€™ He just loves piling, piling, piling. And we like to branch out with the shoes- like you€™ll have a normal outfit on and then your shoe is crazy.

Stylehive: What are your best beauty secrets?
MT: Concealers are really important I think- Kevyn Aucoin makes an amazing concealer, as does Bobbi Brown, and they€™re like a nice creamy base. I think the most important thing is to find a moisturizer that you love- obviously La Mer, hands down, is extraordinary, and if you can€™t do La Mer there€™s Kate Somerville deep tissue repair which is phenomenal.
Buy It:
Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer, $45
Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer, $22
La Mer Moisturizing Lotion, $185
Kate Somerville Deep Tissue Repair, $150

Stylehive: Beauty items you can't leave home without?
MT: La Mer lip balm ($45), which is a huge essential, and an eyelash curler- Shu Uemera eyelash curler ($19).

Stylehive: Tell me about your jewelry line.
MT: It€™s all hand beaded, every piece is made by me, every one is one of a kind and it€™s all semi precious stones. It€™s a really cool, eclectic way to bring a high-end style to your jewelry without it being too obvious.

Stylehive: Where can you buy it?
MT: It€™s not available online unfortunately right now. It was such a side hobby of mine, I gave it to friends as birthday gifts, so I put it in my friends stores- one of the places you can get it now is Fred Segal, Santa Monica, their Nina section, which is their jewelry display.
