Another incredible American Idol success story is about to unfold before our very eyes. Jordin Sparks (the youngest AI winner in the show's history) just released her much anticipated debut album.
Not that the teen with the the profoundly powerful pipes had anything to worry about, the record was met with praise from even the toughest of critics, with Rolling Stone deeming her the €˜perfect American Idol!€™ (You can win Jordin's new album and a bunch of other amazing prizes by entering Fanscape's Pop Music Sweepstakes. We've also set up a special Contest Hive so you can learn more about all the cool stuff you can win.)Stylehive got the chance to talk the exhausted, excited rising star to get the scoop on the album and her budding sense of style. Stylehive: You looked great at AMAs! Who were you wearing?Jordin Sparks: Let me think, I was wearing a Temperley London dress. It was the first time I ever wore their stuff and I love it! The shoes were BP. I had a ring on my pinky finger that was Betsey Johnson. SH: What kind of reaction did you get on the red carpet?
JS:Well it was really cool because I just wanted to feel comfortable, and I felt really comfortable and beautiful in that dress. When I walked up to people I guess they were like 'You look beautiful' and 'have you lost weight.' You know, the usual question that people always ask!SH: You've got your new album-,Jordin Sparks, coming out. How would you describe the sound?
JS:Well there's a little but of everything for anybody! There's stuff that's more rhythmic, there's stuff that makes you really happy and makes you wanna roll down your windows. There's stuff that makes you think. There are definitely ballads on there, because that's what I love to do. And there are songs that are more guitar-driven, so there's a little bit of everything. SH: How does your look match the sound?
JS:I guess it's just like the album. I just wear what I feel, I don't just stick with one thing. Like maybe one day I'll feel like wearing a cute dress and the next day I'll just wanna wear converse and jeans and a t-shirt. I mean it really changes, and that's kind of how my album is, everything is different. There's a little taste of pop, a little taste of hip hop, that's just kind of how I am. SH: Who are your favorite designers?
JS: I definitely love me some Badgley Mischka, they designed my dress for the finale and oh my gosh, I love, love, LOVE that dress! Dina Bar-el, Megan. I do like Temperley London, now that I've figured out that they exist! But I mean, I still shop at Wal-Mart and Target, so I'm still getting used to designer names. I had to think really hard for this!
