New Designer HARLAN BEL Can Ring Ours Anytime

Combine a careful study of structure, a hint of vintage, and some equestrian flair, and you have the inspiration behind the latest reason to be counting down to warm spring weather-- HARLAN BEL. Parsons School of Design graduate Brandy Lunsford developed the line after gaining experience styling and designing for Ralph Lauren. She introduced her first collection in the fall of 2007 and has never looked back, except of course to draw upon her ever present love for unexpected vintage appeal. Leaving behind the typical frills and lace that so many are quick to characterize as vintage today, Lunsford instead adopts the simple shapes and infuses them with powerful modernity for a look that is approachable yet avant-garde.

The result? Figure-conscious cuts that contour rather than camouflage, with crisp colors and strong lines complementing the no-fuss feminine sophistication that she so expertly channels.

Spring 2008 for HARLAN BEL is homage to the mini length, so pay yours by getting those gams in tip top shape. Pleats, panels, and colorblocking take center stage as far as favorite accents go, with eclectic effects like haphazard belts and cutouts adding even more originality to the refreshingly inventive line. Lunsford definitely leaves us wanting more, but until then, we'll just say that spring can't come fast enough. See the slideshow for our favorite Spring 2008 looks!
