Get Ellen Pompeo's Ethereal Red Carpet Look

Considering how scarce red-carpet awards shows are this season, when a show does in fact proceed as scheduled, you can expect celebrities to put their best face forward. Celebrity makeup artist Joanna Schlip drew inspiration from the subtly sexy makeup looks seen on the Christian Lacroix spring '08 runway presentation for the stunning look she gave Grey€™s Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo. A look so ethereally stunning, we just HAVE to emulate it.

Here€™s a step by step guide to get Ellen€™s gorgeous, glowing look.

Face:

Joanna began with a clean, well-moisturized face and then applied Armani Luminous Silk Foundation in light sand with a brush, Cle de Peau concealer, and then powdered with Physicians Formula Organic Wear in Translucent Light Organics for a clean matte finish. For a beautiful, fresh-looking glow, Joanna added a pop of color with Physicians Formula blush in Pink Organics.

Eyes:

Joanna kept Ellen€™s brows mostly natural, adding a slight definition at the arch with a Physicians Formula Brow Pencil in Dark Blonde. For a subtle smoky eye effect, Joanna used Physicians formula Custom Eye Enhancing shadow for Blue Eyes, which was also used to line the lower lashes and smudged using a custom angled applicator for a truly smoldering effect. For added definition, Joanna lightly lined along the top lash with Physicians Formula Felt-Tip Eye Marker in Warm Black, curled the lashes to open the eyes, and applied two coats of Perscriptives False Eyelashes Mascara in Black to both the upper and lower lashes for a stunningly dramatic effect.

Lips:

No look is complete without the perfect pout. To tone down the strong eyes, Joanna kept Ellen€™s lips feminine and soft by using a nude liner- Mac€™s Subculture- and filling it in with Physician€™s Formula Plump Palette in Mauve, for a perfect pout in a beautiful semi-sheer rose color.
Pencil
