Find The Perfect Thanksgiving Hostess Gift!

I always seem to end up at someone else's house for Thanksgiving dinner. One year it was my boyfriend's house, the next, a family friend's house, the year after, an "orphans" dinner at a friend's tiny cramped Manhattan studio. When going to someone else's house, you certainly can't arrive empty-handed. The standard flower bouquet or bottle of wine is always appreciated, but sometimes its fun to step outside the box and bring something more thoughtful. It doesn't have to be something over the top. At a mere $7.95, I love Crate and Barrel's Mulling spice. Its great for making a holiday favorite, spiced wine! Want something non-holiday related? A pretty coffee table book, or a Jonathan Adler ceramic sculpture is perfect for the design-focused host. Going to your best girl friends' for a dinner with your pals? Get her something girly and cute like Bond No. 9 perfume sampler or some calorie free s'mores and hot cocoa (body wash and lip gloss that is) from Philosophy. Thanksgiving is the holiday for giving thanks, so check out the slideshow for other ways to thank your host or hostess!
