One of my style challenges is incorporating belts into my everyday outfits because I never know when and where to do it. That's why browsing through StyleDiary is always a good source of inspiration! So coming across Canadian stylediarist anatomyofanartist was the perfect answer to my belting dilemma. She takes loose silhouettes like trapeze dresses and cardigans, adds a belt, and voila! Instant chic. Whether going to the dentist or hanging out with friends, she always looks her best and says "dressing up is not solely a special occasion thing." I completely agree! Stylediarist grnyr had a simple goal when she started her Stylediary: to get out of the jeans + top rut. I'm sure most of us can relate, as putting together simple outfits can sometimes prove to be a bother. However, the Twin Cities native was able to combine pieces she already owned with new accessories to create a well-constructed, simply elegant style for herself! Whether it was a belted cardigan over skinny jeans, or a mustard vest to punch up her workwear, grnyr gave me some great ideas to update my look within the constructs of my closet. First it was Fruchtzwerg and now it's Mocca-- this means I must have a thing for German Stylediarists! I guess the grass really is greener on the other side. Mocca is an art student and fashion designer from Dresden, Germany with a platinum blonde coif and an amazing vintage-inspired wardrobe. I love going through her StyleDiary because she always looks put together, but never costumey. Mocca is also a great example of someone who knows how to enhance their best features, hers being her small waist and great legs. So get inspired by Mocca and play up your best assets! A lot of the times, pulling off that designer look that you watch walk down the runway or admire in a fashion magazine is a a lot harder than you think! Well, once again I found myself perusing StyleDiary to aid me in my time of fashion frustration and who did I stumble upon this time, but savvy Stylediarist, Jaja. This fashionista has all the latest fall fashions and trends, but more importantly, she creates outfits that look like they're straight off the runway! She captures Yves Saint Laurent's minimalist chic look with this beautiful monochrome ensemble and check out this sweater dress, that to me, just screams Sonia Rykiel's Fall '08 Collection. Oh, and I am definitely thinking of Gucci's boho chic Fall collection with this number.
