At the 13th Annual Hollywood Awards Gala the always striking Charlize Theron was a true vision in black. The bombshell paired a sleek leather skirt with a strapless top from The Row, creating a sexy yet sophisticated silhouette. She injected touches of color into the look with a Bottega Veneta clutch, a pair of diamond-accented pumps and a turquoise ring. By taking a minimal approach to the accessories, Charlize kept the look polished and chic and allowed her natural beauty to really shine. A leather pencil skirt is definitely a must-have this season and is super versatile. Wear it with a sexy top like Charlize or tone it down by teaming it with a billowy blouse or a sharp blazer. "Vampire Diaries" actress Kayla Ewell isn't afraid to rock hot pink on the red carpet. The dress she donned at a special screening of "The Fantastic Mr. Fox" at the 2009 AFI Fest Opening Night Gala is proof that you can wear neons and metallics in the same outfit without looking like you're headed to a rave. The dress (which I am unfortunately unable to identify, despite a frantic Google search) was part pink, part pared-down, thus providing an ideal backdrop for her stunning accessory of choice: a pile of knotted, dangling silver chains. Black nail polish and a silver clutch added the party-perfect finishing touches. The main point to remember in making this look work is to keep a balance- the metallic part of the dress was on the matte side, while the necklace brought a flashy element. At the "Rock A Little, Feed A Little" benefit concert in L.A., the adorable Isla Fisher got in touch with her sexy side, rocking this season's leather trend in a fun and funky way. Isla paired her leather mini with a cool tie-dye tee-shirt and accessorized the look with funky peep-toe booties, a pendant necklace, and an edgy cuff. I love how Isla tempered the inherent sexiness of her leather mini with a more casual top to keep the look from being too vampy. Balance is a key concept to keep in mind when rocking anything leather. Isla also gets points for showing accessory-restraint. When you're outfit is this cool, you really don't need to pile on many extras.

Alicia Keys has quite a lot of success under her belt for a woman at 28 (but then again, what else would you expect from a girl who was accepted into Columbia when she was 16?), with her shelf full of Grammy awards and four chart-topping studio albums. Aside from her musical growth (and ascending movie career), we've also seen quite a progression in her hairdo -- from neat braids to unruly curls and now sleek and straight in her latest video, "Doesn't Mean Anything." But her hair isn't the only thing that's polished and chic. In a sparkly tunic, Alicia is classy as usual, and while she may be mournful and lonely in the video, I know I'd be much more cheerful if I had a hot pair of stiletto boots like hers! For the Fashion Group International's Night of Stars in New York City, rocker Gwen Stefani was her usual fashionable and fabulous self but took went for a more subdued, sophisticated style. Gwen wore a halter LBD and added some shape to the look by cinching the waist with a black belt. She finished the look with black patent pumps, a black LAMB clutch, and a dazzling Lorraine Schwartz bracelet.This look was polished, chic, and sexy but in a subtle way. And unlike most of Gwen's ensembles, it's totally wearable and can work beautifully on anyone, no matter what your age or size.

Video Style Steal: Black Eyed Peas Take Fashionistas To Another World In "Meet Me Halfway"

The recent Black Eyed Peas singles are overplayed enough for you to notice that their latest album is much more "futuristic"-inspired than their past party anthem compilations. And if you're just about fed up with hearing the repetitive beats of "I Gotta Feeling" and the laser gun sound effects of "Boom Boom Pow," you might be relieved that the third single, "Meet Me Halfway," is considerably easier on the eardrums. But don't worry -- just because the relatively low-key tune isn't exactly a club banger doesn't mean it lacks room for drama. The video features the four members isolated in separate parts of the solar system, each looking for a way to reunite. For example, Fergie seems to be stranded in a long-lost dimension that resembles the set for "A Midsummer Night's Dream," decked out in a shimmery fairy princess gown. While the video wardrobe is pretty fantastical, you can still take a cue from their futuristic concepts to form your own modern explorer and fairy-inspired ensembles, thanks to the funky stylings of Fergie and Will.I.Am. One thing that always seems to instill a little hope within me is seeing American Idol alumni actually making something of their temporary fame. It makes me think, "wow, maybe reality TV really does serve a purpose!" And what's not to like about a down-to-earth gal from Arizona with a powerhouse voice making awesome music and managing to stay classy while doing it ('cause apparently that's rare)? Jordin Sparks may only be 19, but she's already making waves with her second studio album "Battlefield" and even has a few pre-AI modeling credits under her belt. But just because the girl has gospel roots and is most known for ballads like "Tattoo" and "No Air" with Chris Brown, it doesn't mean she can't go out and have a little fun. In her latest video, "S.O.S. (Let The Music Play)," Jordin shows off her sexy side... and exposes a backstabbing boyfriend while she's at it! I recommend leaving the chain acrylic nails out of your outfit (how the heck does she text with those things on?), but you can look dance floor-ready with a shimmering sequin dress and embellished black heels like Jordin's.
