Phoenicia Association Brings Art And Style To Phoenix

There's a new kid on the block in Phoenix! Phoenicia Association, a well-cultivated men's store and gallery space, opened earlier this month. Inside the seemingly abandoned brick building holds some of coolest, hard to find duds in the area. Started by friends Jeff Mann and Kyle Simone (both avid street fashion connoisseurs and patrons of the arts) were looking to cultivate a new way of thinking about and looking at art and design in the Phoenix metropolitan area. The shop is split into two sections: one that sells hard to find men's clothing labels April77, Wrath Arcane, Hixsept, and 3Sixteen, and the other that houses a gallery with monthly rotating artists. Piperlime.com Launches New Apparel Shop Today!

I've been a huge fan of Piperlime.com since it launched in 2006. It's become my go-to place online for shoes and handbags. With over 200 brands, they carry everything from the inexpensive to high-end and tons of options in between. Well, I guess domination of online shoes stores wasn't enough! Starting today they will be adding about 65 more brands to their roster with their new apparel section. That's right, they're now a one-stop shop carrying everything from denim and tops to the shoes and bags they already carry. They'll be stocking up on all your basics from brands like 7 for all Mankind, Joe's Jeans, Cynthia Vincent, Paul & Joe Sister, as well as lesser known, up-and-coming brands like Riller & Fount and Kain. Parisian Design House Cop Copine To Open In SF's Union Square Tomorrow!

When news gets out that a chic overseas design house is moving stateside, you almost immediately assume NYC. And most of the time, you're right- just look to Uniqlo, Topshop, Muji, even last fall's Colette pop-up shop for proof. NYC doesn't get to have all the fun though- San Francisco's credibility as a city with a fashion scene to watch is on the rise, the most recent example of which is Cop Copine of Paris, the avant-garde French design house that's opening its first U.S. boutique in SF's Union Square tomorrow. Their summer collection is full of breezy tops, structured dresses, unexpected cuts, and wonderfully layered pieces in an assortment of mix-and-match neutral hues. Also not to be missed- their outerwear, most notably the raincoats- they're just the thing to brighten up this so-called "summer" we've been having in SF (and pretty much the only way we'd ever be seen buying coats in August). When I lived near Hayes Valley in San Francisco, I used to get off the bus a few stops ahead just so I could wander down Hayes Street and browse around at one of my favorite shoe stores, Gimme Shoes. It was a little happy place for me to just be around all these beautiful shoes, even if I hadn't exactly left room in the budget for an additional pair or two. I'm happy to report that they now have everything online so even if you aren't in San Francisco, you can still shop their extensive and stylish collection! Well when times are tough, the savvy get shopping €¦ at consignment stores that is. Consignment stores are a great place to sell some of your own stuff to make room for new, or just to go browse for some great deals. I€™ve rounded up some of the best stores from coast to coast to get everything from Gucci gowns to J.Crew suits; Miu Miu sandals to Nike Dunks at a fraction of the price.

New York
Tokyo 7, 64 E 7th St, New York, NY: A hidden gem in the East Village. A perfect mix of old and new; this store tends to lean more towards €œdowntown€� savvy shopper looking for that off kilter designer piece at fraction of the price. Shoes are often a bit worn, but worth looking at since you can sometimes find a winner.

Ina, Multiple locations in Manhattan and an online boutique: Mostly designer at about a quarter of the price. A well edited store of slightly worn high end designer, but beware this is the cast off place for editors and models, so its rare to find goods over a size 4. Bags go quickly and are still expensive, shoe selection is great- and most are only slightly worn.

The Commerce Department released GDP figures recently and-- gulp!--we saw the biggest decline in over 25 years.
