Fall Fashion Mag Faceoff: Why Details Magazine Is for the Ladies

Details magazine is a true lady€™s mag. What other zine can make Harry Potter look yummy? While Maxim sticks to a predictable T&A formula for their cover, Details throws us chicks a bone by featuring a roster of male hotties. Even the ads feature men who look like dream boat contestants from the game Mystery Date. The fun does not stop there. The articles offer a bird€™s eye view into the world of the modern fashionable man.

The Cover:
It seemed like only yesterday when Shia LaBeouf was on Disney€™s Even Stevens. Now this sweet baby is rocking Hollywood. Unfortunately the cover exclaims he just can€™t get laid. Maybe this video is the reason why.

The Hot:
Think your relationship is dysfunctional? The article, €œWhat if Your Wife Were A Porn Star?€ is a fascinating read about the lives of men whose spouses work in the triple X field. At least most of our soul mates can tell their co-workers what we do for a living. I discovered I have one thing in common with my favorite author, Augusten Burroughs, who developed an infatuation on author, Brian Greene, after reading the €œElegant Universe€, in his story €œI got a Crush On You€. I fell temporary head over heels over Augusten after reading €œRunning with Scissors€. Is there a man in your life sadly lacking in the style department? Point him towards page 164 so they can master the basics of €œHow to pull off American Style€. And I wish my favorite lady mag would do a story on €œThe Obscure Cocktail€ page 144.

The Not:
So, 22 year old Art World Power Broker Vito Schnabel became a big-time gallery owner without his pop€™s help? I think not. And I don€™t buy €œThe Stigma of The Never Married Man€. Darn smug marrieds! Lastly, the history of €œThe Lesbian Kiss€, would have been more interesting in 2003.

The Verdict:
Details is chuck full of fun tidbits that will pepper any party conversation, like the hooker heels that come with a tip jar and the fun new expression, Bluetool. Next to Vanity Fair, Vogue, and Page Six Magazine, Details is a fashion enthusiasts must read whether you have one or two X chromosomes.
