As the temperatures drop, that all-important first cup of coffee in the morning, the one you usually make yourself, takes on heightened significance. In the spring, summer, and fall, that first cup is basically a pleasant tasting and smelling caffeine jolt. In the winter, however, its also a heating mechanism. (I found this out in spades this morning when I discovered my heat was out, and all I had to warm myself was my coffee and a 100-watt table lamp.)
