Celebrity Style Secret: It Rhymes With Sailor, And Will Save You Thousands!

I have a friend who lives for discount clothing stores and rarely spends more that $40 on an item. The frustrating thing about this is that people ALWAYS mistake her inexpensive garments for super high-end items! For a while this drove me absolutely insane. I was the one in the designer duds, yet it was her ensemble that everyone was lusting for. Even more frustrating is the fact that on me, her clothes look incredible tacky and and cheap! So what gives? Well it turns out my friend has another really good friend and never wears anything without getting this friend's seal of approval - her trusted tailor!

This knowledge inspired me to go through my wardrobe for some re-assessing. Sure there were a few items that were a tad bit too long or loose or didn€™t quite sit right, but does that really make a difference? Off to the tailor I went to find out. One week and not much money later, I felt like I had acquired a whole new wardrobe. I kid you not.

My friend isn€™t the only one taking it to the tailor, it€™s a major celebrity style secret as well.

€œI€™m extremely particular about how my clothes fit. I€™ll have things taken in a few centimeters or let out a hem, and to me it makes the hugest difference.€ - Sarah Michelle Gellar

€œFrom stylists I€™ve learned to get things altered, since everyone€™s body is different.€ - Sandra Bullock

€œIt might be a drag to spend $20 to alter a pair of pants or jeans, but the right length makes all the difference.€ - Cheryl Hines

"I've been having trouble finding jeans lately. So I've been buying vintage high-waist trouser jeans and having them tailored. My tailor understands my body. She's always encouraging me to wear stuff tighter." - Mandy Moore
