Backstage At Tracy Reese: Get The Smokin Hot Hair And Makeup Looks

The Tracy Reese fall/winter '08 collection was inspired by the power of nature, a theme that extended beyond the clothes and onto the hair and makeup looks as well. I got the chance to hang backstage before the show to watch the magic unfold and of course, to find out exactly how to recreate the stunningly sexy looks.
Hair:
Stylist Edris Nicholls kept the hair loose, wavy, and elemental to correspond with Tracy's collection- Read on for more on how you can replicate the rockin looks!

How to Get the Jenni Kayne Bed-Head Chic Look

Inspired by the 90€™s grunge scene as well as classic styles and silhouettes from the 30€™s and 40€™s, the Jenni Kane fall/winter €™08 collection incorperated raw sex appeal, dark moodiness, and touches of old Hollywood glamor. Hairstylist Oscar Blandi reflected the organic, edgy, urban feel of the collection with a range of perfectly undone coifs from loose tousled locks, to messy side buns, to haphazard braids. Styling products (all from the Oscar Blandi line available on Beauty.com) were used sparingly to keep the looks as organic and natural-looking as possible. Read on for the complete list of all the products used, and check out our video clip for backstage highlights.

NYFW Runway Report: Cynthia Steffe's Fantastic Reality

The Cynthia Steffe fall/winter €™08 collection was sophisticated and polished with a fun, whimsical, eccentric flare. Titled €œSupernature€ this collection drew upon the capricious, versatile and unexpected aspects of the natural world. From seasonless fabrics that were both textured and lightweight, to the earth-inspired color palette comprised of desert neutrals, grassy hues, and rich jewel tones. There were also a variety of cuts- jackets were sculpted and narrow as well as inflated and voluminous, dresses ranged from soft and flowy to structured and architectural, pant-shapes could be super-slim and cigarette shaped or loose and slouchy.

NYFW Runway Report: Verrier Gives Imperial Russia a Sexy Twist

Designer Ashleigh Verrier was inspired by imperial Russia for the Verrier fall/winter €™08 collection, aptly titled Titled €œFabergé Bohemian,€ which incorporated the opulence of this period with the simplicity of the peasant lifestyle. Staying true to the signature ultra-femme pieces, heavy on the lace and frills, slightly edgy, Verrier style, this collection was both whimsical and restrained, drawing from an array of disparate elements and bringing them together seamlessly.

NYFW Runway Report: Erica Davies' Gypsy Glam Rocker Chic!

The Development by Erica Davies fall/winter '08 collection did not stringently follow one theme - instead, designer Erica Davies allowed her multiple sources of inspiration to blend and overlap-resulting in an AMAZING collection that can best be described as €˜laid-back Bohemian babe meets street-wise tough-chick and encounters a mysterious girl from a foreign country.' Erica was inspired by Marlene Dietrich in the 1947 film, Golden Earrings where she played a Hungarian Gypsy named Lydia, and drew upon ethnic and gypsy inspirations which she updated and reconfigured to create urban motifs. Rather than letting the sources of inspiration override her unique vision, Erica kept the the Bohemian and ethnic references restrained and subdued - a few floaty chiffon numbers, some ikat prints, touches of fringe here and there- for an innovative, culturally-conscious collection that did not compromise contemporary sensibility.

Lipstick Jungle's Star and Stylist Spill to Stylehive!

After narrowly missing her at a bunch of New York Fashion Week shows, I finally caught up with the beautiful Lindsay Price after the Project Runway finale show, and I got a two for one deal because the star was accompanied by the show's costume designer, Dan Lawson! Lindsay plays fashion designer Victory on the new hit series (her character is said to be based on Cynthia Rowley), but Lindsay tells me she wasn€™t much of a fashion-maven prior to being cast in the role. In fact, this season€™s Peter Som show marked the loss of her fashion-week virginity. Read on to see for Lindsay and Dan's looking-great secrets!

NYFW Runway Report: Reem Acra Does the Classic + Modern Thing

Said to represent confidence, modern luxury, and a global sense of belonging, the Reem Acra fall/winter 2008 collection blended classic tailoring with modern sensibility. Known for her gorgeously romantic evening gowns, Reem applied her impeccable tailoring skills to create stunning separates. We saw skirts made with the signature Reem Acra detailed draping, a variety of coats including a flower bomber jacket, brocade jacket, felt evening coat, and a glamorous Chinchilla coat; beautiful silk charmeuse and satin tanks, and a variety of capelets for added glamor.

Beauty Exclusive: How To Get The Lela Rose Runway Look

The Lela Rose fall/winter 2008 presentation mixed the sporty with the glamorous for the venturesome woman characterized by modern savoir faire. To reflect the effervescence and sexiness underlying this collection, beauty.com celebrity makeup artist Tina Turnbow created a rich, sensuous concept that was dramatic and minimal at the same time. Stylehive was backstage before the show where we got to see the magic unfold first-hand, and of course, the scoop on how to recreate the looks. Read on for all Tina's must-have products - and what to do with them!

NYFW Runway Report: Phillip Lim Trots Out His Bag of Tricks

While other designers point to a theme, a muse, a decade, a country, and so on as inspiration for their collections, Phillip Lim, never one to take things all that seriously, described his 3.1 Phillip Lim fall/winter €™08 collection as merely an evolution from the one before- not about a "look," but rather, "A mixed bag of tricks." This bag of tricks translated to - as the designer noted - "Silent volumes - the idea of a quick glance without a word exchanged€¦and left with only thoughts to linger."

NYFW Runway Report: Nanette Lepore Goes Gossip Girl Glam

I know exactly where Eric Damon, the genius behind all the incredible styles we lust over each week on the hit show Gossip Girl, is going to find looks for upcoming episodes: the Nanette Lepore showroom! How do I know this? Because each look that sauntered down the runway during the fall/winter €™08 show simply screamed €˜Serena van der Woodsen€™- not surprising since the collection was inspired by the high-society party girl.
