Daily Obsesh - Pier 1 Imports Embroidered Multi-Damask Throw Pillow

Whether you're looking for something to add a little personality to your new dorm room or apartment for when school starts again, or if you're just looking for cheap and simple way to give your living quarters a new look, throw pillows are always a good idea. Throw pillows are an easy-on-the-budget way to give a room you're bored with a little more color and texture. One of my favorite throw pillows that I've seen recently is the Embroidered Multi-Damask Throw Pillow from Pier 1 Imports. It's combination of colors are gorgeous together and the Indian-inspired pattern help brighten up your place, while adding an air of beauty and exoticism. Just the right amount of bright hues and a pretty pattern from the trans-Atlantic makes this throw pillow especially eye-catching and can be yours for less than $25.00 a piece!

Hot In The Hive: Alexander McQueen - Genius of a Generation

Just earlier this year in February, the fashion world lost one of it's most eclectic and creative geniuses, Alexander McQueen. McQueen is known for his daring and often avant-garde sense of style. Many of his pieces were beautifully and intricately constructed with an expert eye for pattern and detail, albeit majority were shockingly risque and most definitely reserved for the truly fashionably daring. Undeniably unique, Alexander McQueen designs soon garnered a fan-base of the most fashionable celebrity risk-takers, including Madonna, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Beyonce, David Bowie and Bjork. Sadly, the light and genius of this one-of-a-kind designer was cut short right before his own show at New York Fashion Week this year, leaving the fashion world in shock and sorrow.
The "Alexander McQueen: Genius of a Generation" book by Kristin Knox is a vibrant tribute to the late designer. Filled with photographs from his unforgettable runway shows, including pieces from his last collection, as well as quotes, stories and anecdotes from friends and fashion peers. Whether or not Alexander McQueens' brash couture agrees with your personal aesthetics or not, there is no denying the genius behind the creative force that was Alexander Mqueen. After all, he did receive the British Designer of the Year Award four times. The "Alexander McQueen: Genius of a Generation" book is a must-have for any fashion buff and makes a great gift for all your fashionable friends, and for $29.00 at Urban Outfitters, this colorful tribute is worth every penny.

Hot In The Hive: Dsquared Skeletal Stilettos.

This year on the runway, bones other than model's ribs and knees made a debut. Alexander McQueen without a doubt has introduced the fashion industry to the wondrous world of skulls, making the normally Gothic symbol a fashionable success years ago. Karl Lagerfeld and Chanel followed the trend by creating dodgy heels, and taboo imagery nearly two years ago. Currently, these Dsquared Fall 2010 shoes carry on that legacy with an anthropologist's dream shoe - thus resulting in the creation of these skeletal stilettos. The series features a variety of high heeled boots and shoes that feature heels that look like they are made from spinal columns.

Hot In The Hive: Yellow Submarine Tea Infuser

If you're a tea drinker then you know all about the benefits of loose leaf tea vs. teabags. Loose leaf just tastes better, but it involves a little more work before you can start sipping. What makes loose leaf tea taste even better is an adorable tea infuser to stash the leaves in. The Submarine Tea Infuser is seriously the cutest little thing I've ever laid eyes on! Doesn't it just make your heart smile? I am a huge Beatles fan and this sub reminds me of the hippy aquatic world of Yellow Submarine, so of course I need to have one. You'll impress your guests with this little sub and I guarantee a few €œaww€s when you bust it out. This little infuser will definitely have people jealous of your hip style and rad taste for home decor.

Hot In The Hive: ASOS Crown Headband

I'll admit it -- while I know that "look-at-me" hair accessories are having a moment, I still haven't gotten into the trend. For example, Gossip Girl Blair Waldorf looks cute with her preppy-chic never-ending headband collection, but I feel like I'd just look like a giant Christmas present if I tried to cop the look myself. And Lady GaGa's oversized bow look is definitely catching on, but I'm just not into the Minnie Mouse look. However, this ASOS Crown Headband is totally catching my eye, strangely enough! It's totally quirky in an almost cartoon-like way that isn't meant to be taken seriously... and while I'm still not convinced that I'd rock the accessory myself, I'm definitely tempted. What do you think of this cheeky crown headband?

Hot In The Hive: InCase Convertible iPad Cover

If you've finally broken down and decided to buy a coveted Apple iPad, the last thing you want to do is damage the thing! Sure, you could nab any old zip-around neoprene case, nylon travel bag, or even a plastic or rubber shell for better no-slip... or you could go more luxe with leather! The InCase Convertible iPad Cover makes your iPad look like more than just the latest toy or a glorified, oversized iPhone. It gives the gadget a more professional look (even if you're just using it to watch Netflix on your afternoon break) and helps protect from cracks and unsightly fingerprint smudges, while also providing a folded stand so you can set up your own hands-free mini screen! And at only $59.95, it's a small price to pay for a stylish upgrade for your precious iPad!

Hot In The Hive: Urban Decay Summer Of Love Nail Kit

When it comes to nail polish, I have a fear of commitment. I don't know if it's just because I'm too tempted by all the beautiful colors in existence, or maybe it's because I just recently kicked my nail-biting habit and I'm trying to enjoy having gorgeous nails for once in my life. Either way, compulsively buying full bottles of on-trend nail colors is really burning a hole in my wallet, especially when I'll just use it for a day and then get distracted by the newest color on the shelf (plus, the turnover rate for trendy nail polish is ridiculously quick)! Urban Decay's Summer Of Love Nail Kit is perfect for polish addicts like me -- it comes with six way different colors to suit any day or mood, from shimmery baby pink for your subtle days to the hottest of neon tangerines for your wildest pool party. Plus, since they're mini bottles, you won't let a full-sized bottle go to waste, and you get the whole set for a mere $28 (you can only buy 3 full-sized OPIs with that)! Let the enamel-experimenting begin!

Hot In The Hive: Doshi Levien Paper Planes Reading Chairs

All I wanna do is ... sink right into that seat. Doshi Levien's Paper Planes line of reading chairs are designed to help you do just that -- they're contemporary like the bulk of their esteemed furniture projects, and their asymmetrical shape was actually crafted specifically for comfort, making the chair as sophisticatedly practical as dad's leather LA-Z-BOY, just more smooth and sleek and effortlessly less burly. And this chair can actually recline in more ways than one. It was actually paper folding that fueled the creation of this swanky lounger. Furniture design may have been pushed against the grain in the conception of this piece of art, but upon further inspection, the lines and angles of the Paper Planes chairs seem to flow together in a way that that makes sound, geometric sense. Upon even closer inspection, you'll notice that some chairs actually shimmer with Swarovsky crystals that trace the graph paper-like grooves along the chair's many planes -- talk about baller. Unwind and relish in the creativity of the planet's edgiest reading chair while really indulging yourself by sitting on upholstery laced with the world's most famous crystals. We'd all probably be reading a bit more if we had a reading chair like one of Levien's Paper Planes. To afford a piece, however, I might just have to take your money. Check out the slideshow for a few more views of the project!

Hot In The Hive: Scott Barnes Body Bling Lotion

Now you really can glow like J. Lo! Celebrity makeup artist Scott Barnes, whose clientele includes the likes of Kim Kardashian, Mariska Hargitay, and of course Jennifer Lopez, is all about enhancing skin tone to create radiant, glowing skin as a foundation for his countless makeup looks. He recently published a book, titled About Face, which provides the lowdown on how he's created some of his most successful red carpet looks. It also highlights his best-selling product, Body Bling Lotion, which is my new favorite beauty product for summer! It comes in both Original and Platinum shades (the latter is for fair-skinned girls who prefer radiance over color), and adds the perfect dose of moisture and golden shimmer for the ideal summer glow. And unlike risky self-tanners that can leave you orange-y for weeks to come, Body Bling easily rinses off in the shower, so you won't end up with weird patches or uneven color!
