Sixx Design Proves Couples Who Buy Art Together, Stay Together

I've always wanted to be that guy who could go into any flea market, garage sale or street fair, find a piece of art that inspired or amused me, and just buy it. But doubt and insecurity usually win out over blind inspiration. Who am I to know if the paper mache bust of Abe Lincoln is a piece of fun folk art that would look great on the kitchen counter, or just plain old mediocre-to-awful crap that will wind up in the attic within the week?

According to Sixx Design's Rob and Cortney Novogratz, I need to get some backbone.

The couple began collecting art together when they started dating 15 years ago. Luckily, they let inspiration knock out insecurity, and so have built a vast collection of inspiring pieces that run the gamut from street finds to important works by some of the 20th and 21st century's most accomplished artists and photographers.

Learn how they look for art, how they have developed an eye for artistic talent, and see how they hang the pieces in their home in our latest video.

It's Sixx Design Week! Click back every day this week for more videos, amazing slideshows, and interviews with Bob and Cortney.
