Bring Out The Dresses! Transitioning From Winter To Spring

If you're like me, you're ready for spring. And while the weather may not be, that doesn't mean you have to wait. As the spring collections become available, start incorporating pieces into your winter wardrobe. Dresses with the trends from this spring--bright colors, bold patterns, prairie themes--go great with boots, or better booties! Choose dresses with spring themes in heavier fabrics, pair them with boots, and depending on your zip code, add stockings or leggings for extra insulation. Still looking overcast and gloomy outside your window? It is time to ditch the drab colors and glum charcoals. Charm the sun into the skies with brighter looks! Check out some great pairing ideas on the slideshow.

Ahoy, Matey! Our Favorite Nautical-Inspired Styles for Spring

Nautical styles are showing up in all departments, for every piece of clothing. And why not? Seaworthy styles are perfect for spring: double-breasted sailors coats and high-rise trousers ward off the lingering winter weather, while dresses, sandals, and of course, swimsuits usher in the beach-ready style of the incoming season. Nautical pieces can be incorporated into your everyday wardrobe for a sailor's touch to any outfit, and there is truly a bounty to chose from. Sailing brand Sperry is just as fashionable as it is classic, while Ralph Lauren and Kate Spade are frequent and recurring fans of the style. For braving the high seas, taking a lookout from the crow's nest, stopping in port for coffee, or hightailing to the Hamptons, nautical styles announce the arrival of spring without leaving you out in the cold. Check out our favorite nautical pieces, and be the sharpest sailor around!

Calling All Design Enthusiasts: The Stockholm Furniture Fair Starts Today!

From February 4 to February 7, the Stockholm International Fair will host the Stockholm Furniture Fair, featuring exhibitions of modern design as well as a number of guest speakers and seminars. The show will feature seventeen designers, from well-established names to young talents, from traditional modes of construction to state-of-the-art technologies. You can't miss 'Riot,' a lamp designed by Janne Kyttanen as part of the FOC (Freedom Of Creation) collection which uses Megaman energy saving recyclable bulbs. Other highlights include Angela Staps' floating lamp shade Los 1, in which the lamp shade levitates above the bulb, and Marieke Staps€™ Soil Lamp, in which an LED light is powered by the metabolism of biological life in the mud. Special guest speakers include Ineke Hans, whose famous creations incorporate the training of a designer with the aesthetics of a sculptor, and trend analyst Li Edelkoort, known both for her research and her role as a consultant to companies such as Coca-Cola and Estee Lauder. Diamonds For Valentine's Day, And Every Occasion

As the adage goes, diamonds are a girl's best friend. As far as Valentine's Day gifts go, flowers wilt and chocolate inevitably goes from lips to hips pretty quickly. And a diamond (or diamonds as the case may be!) doesn't have to been a huge investment, or a lifetime commitment. For men shopping for your wife, girlfriend, sweetheart, secret office crush...there's something for everybody out there, and if you're the slightest bit unsure, Dior's ''Oui' diamond ring makes the perfect statement. For girls, we all know it doesn't hurt to steer those men in the right direction, or we can shop for our friends, mothers, sisters, and of course, ourselves. From simple earrings to ornate necklaces all the way to engagement rings, with diamonds in every size and shape, a little bit of sparkle might just be the perfect gift.

Mrs. O: From Jackie to Michelle

With the arrival of the Obamas in the White House, all eyes are on Washington, and it's not just our new president who's capturing our attention. Michelle Obama is demonstrating a true flair for fashion, and her individual style is garnering more than a few fans. With simple lines and beautiful tailoring, she brings to mind another first lady and fashion icon. Already we can identify some aspects of her signature style: her penchant for flats, Erickson Beamon floral brooches, belted dresses, and complexion-flattering jewel tones and pastels. For anyone who was left in doubt of her stylistic prowess, her Michelle Obama's inaugural gown cemented her place among the other formidable fashion mavens who have graced the White House. Check out the slideshow to see some pieces that exemplify the new Mrs. O's wardrobe.
