Style Flashback: Cher From "Clueless"

Before there was Carrie Bradshaw, there was Cher Horowitz, the misguided matchmaker cum fashionista of her Beverly Hills high school. She's Paris Hilton with a heart (and a brain), and her closet was the envy of every 16-year-old girl in 1995. We're campaigning to bring back Cher's killer style for 2009 -- but how? That's where our fashion expert Brian comes in, with some tips on pulling it off. Brian says: Luckily, Cher's style wasn't quite as dated as some of her mid-'90s contemporaries (no flannel shirts here). Her look was upscale prep. Think Gucci meets the Gap. Cher rocked the sexy schoolgirl look way before Britney -- and with much better hair.

Camilla Belle Wears Alexander McQueen Spring 2010

At the debut of the futuristic dystopian flick "2012," Camilla Belle bravely donned an Alexander McQueen creation from his Spring 2010 collection, which premiered in Paris a few weeks ago. The entire Alexander McQueen collection featured a futuristic look and reptilian themed prints. Belle's dress was a short dress with a puff-ball skirt and gem trim on the sleeves. She wisely accessorized this attention-grabber of a dress with a minimal theme in mind. A simple bangle, plain earrings, and nude platform heels ensured that accessories would not compete with the dress. It would be easy to overdo it with chains or diamonds or "look-at-me" shoes. Also in attendance at the movie premiere was American Idol season 8 runner-up Adam Lambert. The soundtrack to the movie features his song "Time for Miracles." Critics describe the song as "perfect" for the movie in which the world faces a huge cataclysmic event and those left have to fight for survival. Written by Roland Emmerich and Harald Kloser, the movie's cast includes John Cusack, Amanda Peet, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Thandie Newton. Woody Harrelson and Danny Glover are also included in the cast of thousands. The film premiered November 4 in Los Angeles. This week it is scheduled for release in Belgium, France, and the UK. Add An Urban Touch To Minimalist Style With Industrial-Chic Home Decor

Some of the coolest room and home decor themes are also the most minimal and deconstructed. It's a look that's hip and has just the right amount of edge for the home. There's a certain nonchalance about a place that looks great without appearing overly contrived. A half-finished, industrial style has a bad-boy appeal and is actually quite easy to achieve with just the right accents. Think metals - iron, steel, and chrome - and newer materials, like plastics and glass. By getting rid of clutter and adding simple furniture and unique decor, you can soon start living in your own street-savvy spot! Click on the slideshow for some great ideas on how to make your home sleek and industrial-chic!

Where the Boys Are: Women's Lace-Up Brogues

For a couple of weeks now I've seen a few women here and there wearing what appears to be their boyfriends' shoes. So I looked it up on Google, and sure enough, it's a real thing, an actual trend for fall and winter. It makes sense in context, I guess -- with all the gender-bending fashion we're seeing now and in the coming season, shoes were bound to follow at some point. Personally, I like my shoes comfortable, so this is a welcome change of direction as far as I'm concerned. Of course, you don't have to raid a man's closet in order to get the look; lots of designers are doing shoes for women that are inspired by styles that have traditionally belonged to men. Check out these Christian Louboutin "Fred" Patent Leather Lace Up Jazz Shoes, cute as a button. Imagine pairing these up with a your favorite Current Elliott boyfriend jeans. Could be very, very cute if played the right way.

So while I may don some leather leggings and fingerless gloves, I want to be able to return home and breathe a sigh of relief, curl up and be comfortable. Overstuffed furniture, wicker accents and countryside-inspired prints and florals are reminiscent of a cozy house and home style. So while mom can't be there everyday whipping up her famous chicken noodle soup and green bean casserole, you can add a few things around the house that give you that warm, fuzzy feeling inside. Check out the slideshow for some easy ideas on how to make your living space country chic and comfortable!
