Hot In The Hive: Fall Back On Adler's Fall Pillows

Jonathan Adler's fun and quirky home furnishings have made him a superstar among interior designers, which is why we at Stylehive thought it prudent to shout out his new pillows for fall, whether your moving into a dorm for first semester, or just shopping for the new couch you got for the house.

I would also like to point out that Adler's website is hilarious, equipped with its Adler Manifesto, laying out 22 hilarious articles detailing his goals (i.e. "We believe that when it comes to decorating, the wife is always right. Unless the husband is gay.")

Here are three of Jonathan's new pillows, which are an homage to surrealism with a "penchant for the juxtaposition of unlikely objects."

Thank you, Jonathan!

StyleNews: Pete Wentz' Pants Make Girls Go Crazy

Stylehive was there for Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz's premiere of his fashion line for DKNY at Macy's Herald Square yesterday. And while we got there plenty early, the store was so swarming with hundreds of boy-crazy girls who were relentlessly pushing and shoving to get an autograph with their favorite pop punk star, we couldn't get within 50 feet of the guy!

We did, however, manage to sneak a peek at the line, a fun, pop-punk-meets-shabby-chic line of jeans, jackets, and graphic tees. Wentz, who has been notorious for rocking ladies jeans in the past (no more now, Pete?) told the New York Post, "My apologies to parents. When they look back and do specials about the 2000s, they can blame me for guys wearing girls€™ jeans and eyeliner.€

Don't worry Pete. You're definitely not the first boy to push that envelope.

StyleNews: MySpace Shares Closet Space

Uber site MySpace.com recently launched a fashion portion which already have 362,000 members. The purpose is essentially to allow style enthusiasts worldwide a community to voice individual opinions: tweens in Poland to high-brow fashionistas in L.A. have a forum to write about their own assessment of what's hot or not on the runways this week. Everywhere from mainstream moguls to cutting-edge independent upstarts can upload pictures, videos, and commentary about their work. Paris Hilton even posted her own Webcam video about her own line.
MySpace Fashion is undoubtedly a great place for wanna-be critics, though it might be difficult to weed out articulate insights. But either way, we at StyleHive love MySpace (add us: StyleHive's Myspace!) and are definitely going to take advantage of this new resource.

StreetStyle: Backstage at GenArt

We're starting a new feature here at Stylehive that celebrates the everyday fashionista. That is, finding stylish boys and girls on the street and presenting their unique sense of style.

This girl here was backstage at the GenArt fashion show,: her red eyebrows are sharply contrasted with a violet jumper and seafoam green printed bikini top.

Awesome? We think so.

Hot In The Hive: Jeremy Scott's Fashion Food Fight

Jeremy Scott is one of the wackiest designers out there. His collections are adorable, hip, super fun, yet still downtown.

Though he's been discovered by high-profile celebs such as Madonna and Kylie Minogue, that doesn't stop his line from being totally cutting edge. With names such as Happy Daze, Knight Life, and featured here, Food Fight and 7-Up Can, his clothing and accessories are great because they seem to smirk at fashion with their "we don't take anything seriously" attitude, while remaining the perfect balance of fifth grade Lisa Frank notebook meets wild couture.

Hive Tip: Fill up your JS bag with packs of Jell-O, a food fight essential.

PartyStyle: Imitation of Christ Fashion Week Jump Off!

Last night, Stylehive made it out to the Imitation of Christ Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week kick off party at Snitch in Midtown. Rock/rap band A.R.E. Weapons played later that night, while videos on about 15 different flat screen TV's playing I.O.C's promotional ads.

Stiff drinks and hors d'oeuvres provided by Imperia Vodka were being enjoyed in abundance by the crowd, and everyone had a total blast.

Our favorite part of the night? Watching adorable hipster models pole dance to cello music.

It never gets old.

We'll be running more Fashion Week party pics all week, so keep checking back!

StyleNews: Fashion Reality Stars Rock the Hive

Two of the Fashionista Diaries' reality show stars, JanJay and Tina, have joined Stylehive and are stocking their Hives with their favorite products from Flirt! cosmetics.

On the hit SOAPNet show, the two on-the-go-getters are trying to turn internships at the Estee Lauder cosmetics brand into the first steps in their long climb up the beauty biz ladder, so its no surprise they're busy on Stylehive trying to turn their favorite Flirt! makeup into best sellers.

StyleNews: Celebrities Swarm Fashion Week

As Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week kicks off today in New York City, its apparent that this year's festivities are going to be much more than a series of runways showing designers' new lines. Just as with every other entertainment outlet, from women's magazines to cable TV, it's all about celebs.

This season, Gwen Stefani, Nicky Hilton, and Chloe Sevigny are not only attending, but presenting at Bryant Park. Stefani's line L.A.M.B. was a huge success last year, and Sevigny is debuting a small, unnamed personal collection.

As The New York Daily News states, "this week's Spring 2008 shows, celebs won't be sitting front row: They'll be the brains behind the designs...star fashionmakers are flooding the runways all at once."

Celebrity-cum-designer isn't anything significantly new, but this year there seems to be a booming number of famous fashionistas. We'll keep you posted on all of their shows as Stylehive hits all the celeb runways over the next seven days. So keep checking back!

Fashion Week In the Knees: Chambord, One Sweet Official Drink

The kind folks at Chambord Liqueur sent two shot glasses, two mini bottles of vodka, and two mini bottles of Chambord to the Stylehive office in New York for a preview of the official drinks of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. The three drinks that are going to be served the most frequently at fashion week receptions are The Chambord French Martini, The French Manhattan, and The Chambordwalk, three crimson doozies that are not only delicious, but might make Vivienne Westwood's patterns seem like Magic Eye puzzles after knocking back a few.

Hot in the Hive: Dutch Bikes Leave Us in a Hollandaise

Two-wheel masterminds Jorge and Olif have recently created bicycles that not only make us weak in the knees due to the aesthetic overdose of cuteness, but are also practical solutions to city commuting.

Scout, the name of this particular bike, includes limited colors and consists of a basic frame with a variety of features, or "extras", that allow for a personally customized look. J&O "like to adhere to good environmental and socially responsible practices by engaging local design talent and encouraging sustainable production processes through our custom commissions."

How bad are you wanting to rip up your Metrocard (what we in NYC use to ride the subway) a.s.a.p?

Hive Tip: Instead of going on some ridiculous diet you saw in an infomercial, ride a bike.
