Paris Style: Stéphanie Cesairé Hand-Built Handbags Are Luxe Throwbacks

Remember luxury? Timeless designs of irreproachable quality characteristic of the past? Sigh. Just when I thought I۪d spiraled into nostalgic despair of the disappearance of such exquisite quality, I stumbled upon French designer St̩phanie Cesair̩, whose creations remind us that the luxury flame is still being carried (albeit by a select few). After collaborations with big guns like Karl Lagerfeld (Lagerfeld Gallery), Alber Elbaz (Guy Laroche), LVMH (Kenzo), and most recently Nina Ricci, it۪s no wonder that Cesaire۪s leitmotif is that each creation must be "rare and eternal." April in Paris: Gaspard Yurkievich Shares Spring/Summer Picks!

Speaking of France, independent Paris fashion house Gaspard Yurkievich counts itself among the hippest, most "in" young labels this side of the Atlantic. With an ever-evolving boutique in the trendy Marais district and a brand new eSHOP, the brand is definitely on the rise! And I should know €“ I work here! Our signature glitz and glam is in your face for the spring/summer 2008 collection, rightly entitled SHEER MEMORIES: light, luxurious fabrics, sparkling threads, retro flashbacks, crocodile satin, chain-splashed stockings. Sensual semi-transparent chiffons offer a glimpse of the body's natural curves, while patterns of light-capturing cellophane and Lurex intertwined with silk obscure transparency. Makeup is the inspiration for the color scheme: mascara black, flesh tones and poppy red. As the palette's powder element, more discreet cotton-silk mélange pieces represent the basic foundation of any wardrobe. Check out this SLIDESHOW for my favorite pieces from our current line!
