Cute Solutions For Home Storage!

Getting organized is the worst. I mean, there's the going through your stuff phase, the purge phase, the immediately-regretting-that-purge phase and then boom! Where are you going to put all this stuff? There are a lot of cute storage solutions right now, and I've put together a few of my favorites. I love this Axis Set of Nesting Boxes in Black Toile at Target. Imagine having all of your accessories neatly organized in these boxes sitting on the shelves in your closet? Delightful! For a great vintage, well-traveled look, why not use this Faux-leather Trunk as a side table in your living room? Extra credit if you can add some stickers of your favorite destinations. Check out my slideshow for lots of great home storage solutions!

Gotta Getaway? Check Out The Wit Hotel, Chicago's Hip New Hotspot

We may have lost the Olympics for 2016, but we're still kicking. A Chicago girl through and through, I love keeping up on the latest hip places in the city. That's why I love the Wit Hotel in Chicago, the hippest spot in town since it opened in May. This boutique Doubletree Hotel has become renowned for its bold yellow diagonals through the height of the building, and angular roof, a nod to the reputation of the Windy City. Inside, you'll find a very comfortable contemporary setting, with bold color combinations, which simultaneously make the senses come alive and calm. The fun details are where it's at of course - including the luxurious movie style SCREEN theater room, and the infamous ROOF bar, which has quickly become a destination for the stylish in the city. Located in the city's Theater District, you'll get the best of downtown Chicago! Come visit, but in the mean time, check out the slideshow for a taste of the Wit Hotel!

Influential International Style: Freida Pinto

Freida Pinto is, of course, the notorious sweetheart in yellow from last year's critically and commercially-acclaimed "Slumdog Millionaire." She wowed in her performance, with her poise being thrust into stardom, and moreover, with her red carpet skills. From her rave John Galliano to her clear penchant for Chanel, the girl can seemingly do no wrong. Channel Freida in your closet by taking advantage of traditional flattering cuts, whether it's a one-shoulder top, or a nice wide boat neck. Choose jewel tones that flatter your skin tone. Perhaps most importantly, take a risk with embellishment - sequins, lame and bows - and keep it streamlined. No need for the Bedazzler here, folks. Check out my slideshow for some Freida Pinto-inspired fashion!

Influential International Style: Charlotte Casiraghi

If there was one icon I could choose to dress exactly like, Princess Charlotte Casiraghi would be it. The girl has it going on - royal pedigree, killer style, and hey, she's an editor-in-chief of Above magazine. Her style can be described as classically tailored, yet with a flair for rock and roll details. Whether she's rocking skinny jeans and boots, and a gorgeous scarf, or making a public appearance in a fabulous black dress with lace detailing, she can make any outfit look spectacular. Having a busy day? Channel Charlotte and pick up your hair in a messy bun, and wrap a scarf like crazy around your neck over a simple t-shirt. Voila! You have a fabulous outfit... and didn't even have to wash your hair. Check out my slideshow for some style tips from the royal herself! Photo credit: PR Photos

Retro School Supplies For The Flower Child In You!

Growing up, I remember school supply shopping and positively begging my poor mother for folders adorned with Lisa Frank creatures, smiley faces, or other such nonsense. My mom would always shoot me down though, aiming for the classically primary-colored notebooks, folders, and pencils. Now that I'm older, I can see why, but it sure is fun to look at some of these retro-inspired school supplies! How cute would this brass pencil can look on a chic Parsons-style desktop? And I love these librarian-themed notebooks from etsy seller erinzam. And my baby brother who just headed off to college is going to love this Rubik's cube alarm clock. Check out my slideshow for other great retro school supplies!

Not So Baby Blue Make-Up Choices!

The fall transition is bittersweet. One the one hand, it's time to take advantage of new fall clothing and makeup trends, and on the other hand, you're giving up sweet, glorious summer! Transitional clothing is difficult -- but the make up sure can be fun! I recommend going for some more electric blue in your eye and nail palette! The brights will give you just a little bit of lift, and the blow will definitely be softened when you switch to navy nail shades for true fall. I love the MakeUp Forever Glitters in Metallic Blue for a vampy, going out on the town look. Mixing the gorgeous Yves Saint Laurent Tresor d'Afrique palette for eyes will definitely soften the electric blue for daytime, but you'll still have a kick. For the nails, you definitely can't go wrong with OPI shades, especially Blue My Mind. Check out my slideshow for more ways to electrify your transition makeup!

Influential International Style: Diane Kruger

Diane Kruger knows what's up. As the female lead in Inglorious Basterds, as well as the less recent classics like Troy and Wicker Park, she never fails to sparkle in a performance. Although she won the Cannes Chopard Trophy in 2003, I have to say that her performance at Cannes this year really put her in the stratosphere. Her style is impeccable. She takes risks in interesting sleeves, cutaways, crazy patterns and haute couture texture. She tends to stick with basic black, but chooses outrageous texture and true haute couture. It's no wonder she's Karl Lagerfeld's little darling! One of the reasons she's looked so good lately? Karl himself has used her as a muse since she appeared in Chanel handbag ads in 2007. Interior Inspiration: Best Publications to Improve Your Home's Style!

Seriously, there's nothing I love more than flipping through a well-done magazine. Whether it's showcasing the hottest trends for fall, or seeing all the fabulous editorial photoshoots -- I love them! That's just one of the reasons I love going to the bookstore and picking up a couple home design mags. For around $20, I can imagine all the ways I could change my place - paint this/move that, etc! My favorite is Elle Decor, because they have celebrity homes that are simply unbelievable. For instance, last issue, they showed Anna Sui's abode - amazing prints and all! My favorite hardbound selection can sometimes be hard to find, but the Domino: Book of Decorating is great for determining your style, and solving different space solutions - like renting a tiny studio. Check out my slideshow for lots of great design inspiration publications!

Influential International Style: Kate Lanphear

Oh, to be Kate Lanphear! The acclaimed senior fashion editor at Elle and style icon to all urban girls everywhere manages to take grey and black and combine them, twist them, and surprise you with a few basic ingredients. Seriously, just do a quick Google image search - you'll see Lanphear in jeans, t-shirts, blazers, and cashmere, and always looking chic. She's a serious reminder that a minimalist closet can take you very far. Just stock up on a few key pieces and you'll be on your merry way to super-star style status. Though Lanphear prefers Alexander Wang, Aussie Lee Supa Tubes jeans, and Balenciaga, there are definitely ways to achieve a similar look in your price range! Get More Value with a Convertible Handbag!

Handbags are my true weakness. Okay, and shoes, and accessories, okay FASHION. But handbags, I love. To get more mileage out of a bag purchase, I've been looking to buy one of the fall's convertible bags. You know, something that goes from shoulder to tote, or hobo to hip-slung with a quick switch of a strap. I love the color, texture and bohemian simplicity of the Kooba tied convertible hobo bag. And I feel like I could honestly carry this Foley + Corinna convertible small leather tote in red almost every day. It goes from shoulder to tote so flawlessly, and the scale is just adorable. Check out my slideshow for lots of other handbags that work hard for you!
