Daily Obsesh - ONE by Spring & Clifton Elmira Maxi Skirt

Shopbop.com is hosting a special capsule collection called "ONE by". They've selected a handful of designers to design their perfect item, or as Shopbop describes it " A curated collection of singular pieces from established and emerging lines." Basically, it's an assortment of beautiful one-offs. And, what beautiful one-offs they are.

One of the most lovely pieces is the flowing, jersey, button up maxi by Spring & Clifton, a New York-based label started by California-born Michelle Zacks. Her luscious knitwear has both the bohemian sentimentality of California with the sophistication of New York.

This skirt is no exception. It's long and black for the new york set but you wouldn't look crazy wearing this to the beach or The Grove. The high slit is sexy and buttons look great on the fabric. The jersey renders this skirt casual when any other fabric could have made it goth-y and less wearable.

Wear this skirt with flats or heels, with a flowy shirt or muted tank.

This bag from TopShop is structurally and texturally classic and simple. It's the perfect size for a day shoulder bag, without all of the adornments that can render a purse tacky or cheap.


Simple whipstitch detailing gives the bag a John Wayne Western feel and it's all the extra detaling it needs. Also, the adjustable strap with the buckle is cool and subtle addition that's convenient too! It's roomy enough to accomodate your daily dependables, but not so big that you end up bringing along everything in your apartment. Plus, we love the color of the rich and truly chocolate-y leather.

Shoe of the Week - Sam Edelman Novato Platform Pumps

Tribal prints really are everywhere this season! Around our necks, on our ponchos, and now on our shoes.


These stiletto platforms from Sam Edelman feature a design they call 'Lima Print' in black and white that's vaguely reminiscent of a South American alpaca blanket, except not as cozy and won't make you itchy.


Everything from the tribal print to the raffia-covered platform to the wooden stacked heel reckons hand-made 'native' goods.


The natural-ness of the shoe means that it's great for summer parties. Raffia is a great cover for a platform as it goes with absolutely everything and brings down any pretension that comes with a stiletto heel.
