Get The Beautiful, Bare-Faced Abaete Makeup Look - Stylehive

I love going backstage before fashion shows to talk to hair stylists and makeup artists about the beauty looks they will be creating and to watch it all come together. For the Abaete Fall 2009 presentation, Beauty.com makeup artist Tina Turnbow created a very minimal, no-makeup look that had an old world masculinity meets modern day femme feel to it. The models' complexions were polished and bare with little makeup, a glossy eyelid, washed out brows, and a pale lip. I got the chance to chat with Tina, who used Tarte cosmetics, before the show to get the scoop on exactly how to re-create this soft and subtle look.

Read on for a step by step guide!

Face:
- For a fresh, dewy complexion, apply Claudalie Beauty Elixir, $15, all over the face.
- Follow by applying Claudalie Contour Cream Eyes and Lips, $53, on the cheek bones.
- To create a clean canvas, apply Tarte Smooth Operator Oil-Free Natural Foundation with SPF 20, $35.
- Use The Eraser 4-in-1 Natural Concealer, $19, as needed to erase blemishes and dark circles.
- Finish with Provocateur Pressed Mineral Powder, $28, to reduce oil and shine.

Cheeks:
- Apply a slight touch of Blushing Bride Natural Cheek Stain, $28 using the fingers.

Eyes:
- Line the eyes with Rest Assured Brightening Wand, $22 on the bottom and inner rim.
- Apply The Eraser 4-in-1 Concealer all over the lids.
- For the glossed eye look apply a coat of Vitamin Infused Lipgloss in Liquid Sunshine, $21 and pat with your finger. Apply a second coat along the lash-line only.
- Curl the lashes and finish with Rejuvelash Mascara, $16.

Brows:
- Shape the brows using only the wax from the Toolbox Brow Kit, $32.
- Using an eyeliner brush, brush the lightest shade of Recreate Natural Anti-Aging Foundation, $37, in an upward motion.
- Lightly press Provocateur Mineral Powder onto the brows with a sponge.

Lips:
- For bare lips with a bit of shine, apply Slide-Tin Lip Balm in Bee Stung, $12, and 24/7 Natural Lip Sheer in Champagne Brunch, $14.
- Tweak the look by adding The Eraser 4-in-1 Concealer for a bare-effect.
- Finish by adding a slight touch of color with Blushing Bride Natural Cheek Stain.
