The Winners of "Practically Posh" Give Great "Recession Chic" Tips!

The responses to last week's giveaway- two copies of Robyn Moreno's book Practically Posh: The Smart Girls' Guide to a Glam Life- truly blew us away! We asked you guys to tell us your very best "recession-chic" fashion tips, and it's safe to say we're in the presence of some super-stylish and super-savvy shoppers. There were an incredible number of entries and I definitely learned a thing or two as I read through them. Two Hivers' responses in particular stood out because of their originality and creativity, and they are..

Put all the items you haven€™t worn in over a year in a pile and take them to a consignment store. Not only will your closet have more room to breathe, but you€™ll also earn some cash for things that you don€™t use anymore and support the environment by recycling."

We love the idea of taking the time to focus on the earth even when our closets are in a crunch! Enjoy your copy!

Kathy had this to say: "I€™d have a little get-together at my place for my girlfriends and a couple of their friends who are interested to join and have a swap party. Everyone brings stuff that they don€™t use or wear anymore and leaves it up for grabs. They could also opt to bring some nibbles so it€™s more like a party. I€™d have some music playing to set the mood and a full-length mirror on one side of the room so everyone can check the fit and look of their new €œold€ loot. Having other people around is also great as they can give a fresh perspective & spin to your style and offer tips on how to wear the item you€™ve selected. How many of us haven€™t seen someone walk down the street and think, €œDamn, I wish I had her style.€ This can make it entirely possible without breaking the bank!'

Great idea Kathy! I'll bring the chips! Click here to read more great "recession chic" tips!
