I was so excited on Monday when the brisk weather of San Francisco invited me to break out one of my autumnal coats. To others, it may not have been "jacket" weather, but when there's a smidge of coolness in the air in SF, I bust out the jackets. I wish I was able to break them out more often (especially my vintage pea coat), but I live in California, where the sun shines and the climate has three control settings: cool, mild and warm (with the occasional jolt of cold). So imagine how giddy I get when I can actually wear a coat €“ especially a trench. Of course, Burberry, the purveyor of trenches, is the go-to label for the classic piece of outerwear. There is something so espionage-chic about the trench coats. They make you look like a refined gentleman, yet have this mysterious edge that makes you look SO cool. They even make Inspector Gadget and McGruff the Crime Dog look GQ-worthy! Here are some trench coats that you can bust out when the weather starts to go down. And P.S.- pop the collar up.
